Marlyn Vansen Debuts ‘Animal’

Animal – it’s a track by the young Belizean artist Marlyn Vansen that has been blasting on airwaves across the country, but tonight the twenty-year-old singer is debuting the video right here on Channel Five. Directed and produced by her brother, David Vansen of Wolf Productions, the video showcases issues faced by Marlyn to persevere through the many challenges of the local music industry. Here’s a first look at the music video as News Five got the exclusive with Marlyn Vansen.

“The song has been out for a while and today we are launching the video. I am so hype up and I really can’t wait for everyone to see it and get the feedback on it and stuff like that. We worked really hard. This was an all week recording, video, so I just really can’t wait to get everybody feedback and stuff like that. The video, if you haven’t seen it, you should go and look for it; the name is animal by myself, Marlyn Vansen. The concept is basically like a normal ordinary girl has another side to her…like a diva, fierce side. In the video there is also a metaphor where she gets stoned with eggs and that’s just portraying that people throw hateful words at me personally…because the video is somewhat personal. But in reality, when I get on stage I am a completely different person than you’re probably gonna see walking on the street or on a day to day basis. I am completely different and that’s kind of what I was trying to show in the video—the two sides of me.”

“Animal is different; it seems to be a merge of different genres. Talk to us about that, finding your own; who you are as the artist Marlyn Vansen.”

“This song is like a pop/techno vibe to it. I really like that genre of music; that’s something that I’ve always wanted to do and I finally got the opportunity to do it so I feel like now I am more coming out as the artist I want to be. We are making music videos and songs now. I am releasing a lot of singles and we are working on new music videos and stuff like that. I am just trying to get noticed by the right people; I am just trying to get myself out there as much as possible to showcase my talent and what I have to offer to people.”
