Adult and minor charged for attempted murder
Also in Magistrates’ Court, thirty-four year old Lance Welch and a seventeen year old minor were slapped with a number of charges in connection with a shooting on April sixth. No plea was taken from the duo for the charges of Attempted Murder and two counts each of Use of Deadly Means of Harm, Aggravated Assault, Dangerous Harm and Wounding because the case will be tried in the Supreme Court. They were remanded into prison until May fourteenth since bail could not be offered. The charges relate to a report made by eighteen year old Keon Francis that he and a seventeen year old minor were at the corner of Kraal Road when Welch and his accomplice approached them. According to Francis, the assailants pulled out two nine millimetre pistols and fired several shots at them. But while they escaped unhurt, stray bullets hit two other minors in the area; one in the forearm and the other in his hand. The accused minor was detained on April ninth and cops caught up with Welch last Friday night on Kraal Road.
