5th Summit of the Americas Coverage and CMC is back
Tonight we report on two programming features to complement our newscast and our Morning Show. Firstly, beginning on April fourteenth to twentieth, our breakfast show ‘Open Your Eyes’ will be broadcasted from Trinidad and Tobago and we will have reports in our newscast of the Fifth Summit of the Americas. William Neal and myself will provide detailed coverage of the summit so we invite you to stay tuned to this station for a week of extensive coverage.
And secondly, if you have missed Caribbean Newsline, we are pleased to inform you tonight that this feature will be back beginning Tuesday following our nightly newscast. The Caribbean Media Corporation has since August of 2006 acted as the coordinating body for a C.B.U./CANA project funded by the European Union. Under that initiative, eight Caribbean countries, including Belize through Channel Five, receive television uplinks to promote the increased flow of information across the region. The service was interrupted last September and is now being restored with the Barbados-based Newsline, feeding information to Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Suriname, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Belize.
