Woman believes home and car burnt down by rival

There is another twist to the story of a wooden house on Elston Kerr Street that was destroyed by fire last Thursday. There is now reason to believe the fire was deliberate. The home belonged to twenty eight year old Kimberly Trapp who today told News Five that she has been “going through some changes” with one Stephanie James whom she believes torched the place. And over the weekend, it appears that Trapp was once again targeted and her car was set on fire. One of Thursday’s victims, thirteen year old Robert Lord, who sustained second degree burns when he was trapped inside the house, was flown to the U.S. for further treatment on Sunday. His asthmatic condition deteriorated on Friday and he had to be placed on life support due to lung failure. With the financial assistance from Yvette Burks of BERT and Gift of Life, Lord was flown to Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lord’s mother came to our studios and told us her son was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“Well dehn got ah di sleep fah Friday under anaesthesia and Saturday when we went the doctor told us that the pulse, the temperature gone sky high, ih catch infection, ih blood drop to low. Everything mi just kinda start to get complicated and the doctors say they start to worry because ih lungs. He got burned on Thursday morning before day and Friday morning ih get worst. He couldn’t, breathe ih start to suffocate, dehn put ah on life support. He get eighteen percent burn, second degree. And the worst one dah di inhalation, di one inside. He’s asthmatic. We decided fi look after help fi try get ahn outside. We get di help through Ms. Yvette Burks and right now we need assistant help because to fly out mi baby alone cost twenty-four thousand U.S. So I di ask the public if dehn could please assist me with finance cause I really, really need it. Mi husband gone with mi baby and I no know how long they wah deh out deh.”

“Well he was sleeping with my neighbour’s son at the time of the incident and the house just caught on fire, but now I get to understand that someone burned it down, they caught the car on fire Saturday night. So I di beg di police fi please investigate because I need fi know why the house catch pan fire, who catch it and my baby get serious hurt because my baby deh fifty-fifty right now.”

“Ms. Trapp, rumours are that the fire that burned your house that it was set by a given individual, I believe her name is Miss Stephanie James. Could you tell me if that is so and if there is any reason why Miss James would want to do something like that?”

“Well, as I said before, me and she go through changes, fi the past couple months we di go through. She broke up my car glass, she have couple counts a damage, just Friday ya before the incident happen Wednesday—Friday after the incident happen Wednesday, I fi gawn da court fi testify pertaining she with damage to property so and I noh know and my neighbour—well I nuh get fi see he yet. Dah he di tell me he see eena the yaad and thing and yesthey do make all kind of threats pertaining to me, she.”

“I understand that your car was also set on fire over the course of the weekend?”

“Yeah, and after all di incident happen my car end up di get set pah fire Saturday night. We just finish up court and now the judge look like ih get enough ahn, ih bound ahn over the peace fi wah year and ih give ah, yo know, multiple charges but I still feel like—now my house deh flat down to the ground. Everything points to her so I noh know what else fi seh, I noh know what else fi do from ya.”
