Six Brazilians Caught Entering Belize Illegally
Six Brazilians caught illegally on board a commercial bus entering Belize are spending time at the Belize Central Prison pending their expulsion from the country. The six were nabbed during a vehicular checkpoint near the banks of the Mopan River on Monday. They have been fined a thousand dollars each, in default, six months imprisonment, and are to be deported as soon as possible. They did not challenge the expulsion order and are said to be happy they are going back home. The four men and two women appeared unrepresented in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon, where they were jointly read a charge each of illegal entry.
