American fugitive caught in Belize

Another US fugitive has been caught hiding out in Belize. This time it’s a convicted sex offender from the State of Oregon, fifty-five year old William Carl Welsh. According to a report on the Fox Twelve Oregon news website, his list of convictions includes Sodomy, Sexual Abuse and Displaying Child Sexual Conduct. But when Welsh was picked last Wednesday, it was for a state parole violation in the Astoria neighborhood of Queens, New York. He was reportedly staying at a motel in Belize City, not far from the Princess Casino where he was arrested. Welsh was handed over to US Marshalls and is to be taken to Houston for extradition proceedings before he returns to Oregon. Investigations by Federal authorities may lead to further charges being brought against him.
