“The foreign policy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) is always on the basis of continuity no matter who is the president. The relation between our diplomatic allies remains the same, but for President Ma he is personally actively involved in foreign policy. He wants to strengthen the bilateral relations particularly with Belize. During his eight years, he strengthened the relation with Belize in many aspects including agriculture and aquaculture technical cooperation; ICT Information Communication Cooperation and most important he emphasize on human resource and culture. So today’s administration in Belize, we have completed many projects like Taiwan scholarship…he offered more quota of scholarship to your young brilliant students. Each year we have about thirty-one scholarships to Belizean students to pursue studies in Taiwan to bachelor’s master’s and even doctorate degree. The other area is cultural exchange.
