Why Did He Resign?

There’s no smoking gun in Vega’s letter but there’s no doubt a cannon has been fired somewhere by somebody. Speculation is roaming wild and free. Did Vega resign because he felt he was punked by Prime Minister Barrow when his powerful lands portfolio was taken away? Is there a serious rift in the U.D.P.? Is Vega upset because he’s being forced to wait until 2020 for a chance at the top spot in the Party? Are Vega and other Ministers just fed up with Senator Minister Godwin Hulse who’s put the Lands Department in lockdown? Has Minister Godwin Hulse uncovered some explosive secret in the Lands Department which has made Vega a sudden liability to the Party? Did Vega choose to resign, or was he asked to do so? Did Vega just decide that he’s gotten enough of the political fray and it’s better to go quietly in to that goodnight? We’ve heard it all…but Vega isn’t talking. The Prime Minister hasn’t answered our query via text and Minister Godwin Hulse hasn’t taken our calls or answered our texts.  The U.D.P. Secretariat has issued a release stating that at the convention scheduled for March twentieth, they will endorse only the positions of leader, second deputy leader, chair and deputy chair. Following that convention, the National Party Council will meet to “decide on the procedure and timing for a special election to choose the new first deputy leader to succeed Hon. Vega.” The release ends by pointing out that Vega remains a Minister of Government, which we take to mean that at least for now, he also retains the position of Deputy Prime Minister.

  1. Uncle Benji says:

Is it another one bites the dust or is it run Gapy, run before the theft and graft discovered in the Lands Dept catches up to you.

Good riddance. Dean Ali BaBarrow is next.
