Local gospel singers release compilation album

Story PictureThousands dream of a singing career, hundreds actually make it on a CD, but it’s only a select few who have carved out a name for themselves on the Belizean music scene. This month one group of local artists is releasing a religious compilation CD that they hope will find its way into your collection.

Michael Evans, Manager, New Beginnings Productions
?The album is entitled ?Dance Hall Outta Belize? and it features eight young talented artists here in Belize, all Christians. It?s a gospel album. It has varying styles on it, starting with reggae and going into some crossover of hip hop and then just the hardcore dance hall rhythms on the album.?

?We?ve been in this about seven years and now we are the point where we are selling these albums in the Caribbean, in the U.S. and also in England.?

Karla Vernon
?Will it be available online somewhere??

Michael Evans
?It will be available online in several different places. The main place would be gospelreggae.com, which is one of the biggest retailers of Caribbean Christian music.?

?We spent about fifteen months in the recording, mixing, the producing and the mastering of the album. It?s already been invited into this year?s Marlin Awards, which is a big Caribbean Awards show that takes place in the Bahamas every year.?

The album is available from music stores across the country at a suggested retail price of twenty-five dollars.
