Criminal and internal investigation launched by San Ignacio Police

This afternoon, we spoke with Inspector Reymundo Reyes who told us that the matter is being investigated both criminally and internally since there are conflicting accounts of what transpired.

“Thursday night we had a gentleman by the name of Ernesto Chan, who visited the station and made a report that he had been assaulted by two members attached to the San Ignacio Town Police Station. Police observed that he had injuries so as a result a medical form was issued to him where his injuries were certified as wounding. Police also learnt that one of the officers involved was also injured in the process and medical form was issued to him and certified as harm. This present moment, the investigation is being carried out. Presently in charge of the investigation are people from the Internal Affairs Office in Belmopan. So at this point, it is being investigated both disciplinary and criminally to establish what actually transpired out there between the officers and Mister Chan.”

“What did an initial investigation reveal because there is an allegation that this is the result of a love triangle, so to speak?”

“Well I do not know of such…if that is what caused the confrontation between the officers and Mister Chan. It may be a dispute that they have in respect to Mister Chan taking photographs of them without their authorization.”

“So, the investigation revealed that at some point Mister Chan may have been taking photographs of the officers…”

“…Photographs of the officers. Allegedly when the officers approached Mister Chan vehicle to have a word with them that is when Mister Chan assaulted the officer with the door of his vehicle. But at the same time Mister Chan is giving a different version of the story. He is saying that when in his vehicle, one of the officers approached him and immediately opened his door, pulled him out of his vehicle and started to beat him up. So that is where we have to be careful and try to find what actually transpired out there because we do believe people saw what happened.”
The matter is being dealt with by the Internal Affairs Department in Belmopan.
Police always cover up for there own. Fire all of there corrupt asses. That is why the people have no trust in them.
I think that the police department is full of corruption. That victorin person is one of the worst kinds. he has victimized those village women who do not know how to defend themselves. He is a rapist and an extortionist he needs to be fired definately.
It should be made absolutely clear to police officers that citizens have every right to photograph or video them in the course of their duties, and at any other time when in public. Any interference with such should be treated as an attempt to pervert the course of justice.

What can the police department say with the investigation being carried out in regards to the two officer who beat up mr. chan
Well if we go after victorin lets go after the residence of San Ignacio Then.. Lets start with the color card why do San Ignacio Residence not hire black belizean woman and men to work in the banks, why do San Ignacio People think that St. Elena People are inferior, Why do San Ignacio People believe that San Ignacio Belongs only to those who are the so-called well connected and affluent, Better than that why do gossip in San Ignacio Flow heavier than the macal river, we must answer these questions. Talk about corruption . San Ignacio is one of the most corruptive destruction towns in world with lesbians and gays rampant with drug users in the highest levels of society.
