PUC Launches Mobile App
Innovation Program Belize, an annual competition for young, aspiring Belizean entrepreneurs and innovators, was launched this morning during a press conference held by the Public Utilities Commission. The inaugural session will be held in August and will feature a mobile application development workshop. The idea of the seminar is for two-member groups to create mobile apps that will be submitted by the PUC for consideration in the International Telecommunication Union’s Young Innovators Program.
John Avery, Chairman, Public Service Commission
“From the time we’ve been at the commission, each year we’re asked by the ITU to submit nominations, to make nominations to the their yearly Young Innovators Competition and it is a global thing that is championed by the International Telecommunication Union and each year at Telecom World, which is held in different regions each year, they sponsor the display of the winners in their annual competition. They choose ten winners each year and they fly them or transport them to whichever country that ITU is hosting Telecom World young people today.”
The deadline for submission of applications is July thirty-first. Aside from an opportunity to attend the Telecom World event this year, the winning group will receive a tablet and a year’s internet service.
Is there a application for this program because I am interested. And its not on the website. Thanks
