Belizeans Shine In Regional Environmental Poster Competition
A pair of young Belizean artists has placed highly in a regional tourism and environmental poster competition hosted by the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association. While they did not win the coveted first prizes in their respective categories, they continue to bring exposure to the Jewel as a major cruise tourism destination. Dengri Hernandez and Amber McKoy were today rewarded for their achievements by Minister of Tourism Manuel Heredia Junior.
Manuel Heredia Jr., Minister of Tourism
“I have to congratulate everyone who participated, particularly the ones that won. I think this gives us the opportunity to be able to display your talents and it is very important when you can have students, young people displaying their talents. It is an opportunity and a challenge to do this and I believe as Minister of Tourism and Culture particularly we’re supposed to put priorities on the young people and being able to enter into this competition and to assist as much as possible. So now I will have the opportunity to go ahead and make the presentation. In the senior division finalists, Belize’s national representative for the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association Foundation Children’s Environmental Poster Competition, this prize goes to Dengri Hernandez…”
“Now from the Grace Primary School, again from the same Florida Caribbean Cruise Association Children’s Environmental Poster Competition, Junior Second place participant school – Grace Primary School.”
