Alexis Rosado Appointed New Ambassador to Guatemala
The speculation about who will be named as Belize’s Ambassador to Guatemala in the wake of the death of former Ambassador Fred Martinez is over. It is known that Cabinet took a decision on Tuesday, but the name of the new head of mission is being kept under the lid. The Prime Minister will be making an official announcement sometime next week, but we can reliably report tonight that the C.E.O. in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alexis Rosado, is government’s choice. Rosado is well-versed in the matter of the territorial dispute and has wide diplomatic experience which will serve him well in the new mission. We can’t, however, indicate when he will be heading to post; Belize is currently the pro-tempore president of SICA and of course the Guatemalan government will first have to give agrément, but we see no reason why that won’t be soon enough. Rosado’s appointment, however, leaves the door open for a new C.E.O. at the Ministry. And that appointment is also pending by G.O.B.

Another udp flunky gets the job no surprise here
Rod:
Ambassdor Rosado is a highly-capable respected career diplomat, who has worked for both UDP and PUP administrations. He was the High Commissioner for Belize in the UK and served on the Belize-Guatemala Negotiating Team. He’s actually a very good choice.
Well known and respected diplomat that has been in the arena for a long time now. Making his way as diplomat for Belize in the United Kingdom and part of the Belize Guatemala Negotiating Team during PUP & UDP administrations and CEO in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The best candidate to become Ambassador Martinez successor! Remember my fellow Belizeans, we all unite and put colors aside to defend our sovereignty!
Yes indeed,,we look at qualifications first and clearly is a very respected and intelligent person to fill the post. That is what should be done when appointing anyone like any other job,,not like the Contreras one,,she still got the post and everybody just stopped saying anything…just a lil stirr but stay satisfied easitly with whatever the ones up there say…no experience, qualifications, yet very good top notch job for Minister Erwin daughter,..what a shame on our health department
This is why Belize stands in such a deep hole. Look at ROD comment, talking without knowing or doing some research on the person’s professional profile. Look at ORR talking about health department when this is a matter of national security. Both comments sound like political agenda. Our society is so judgmental but the problem is that nowadays is that the fools talk and the intelligent remain silent.
