Husband maims wife during domestic dispute

Tonight Belize City police are actively seeking a husband who hacked up his wife and left her bleeding in their home. According to the authorities, around nine-thirty last night cops responded to reports of a domestic abuse on Kelly Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Julia Amaya with a number of her fingers chopped off and with severe injuries to her head. According to the wounded woman, earlier in the evening she and her common-law husband Nectali Avila had gotten into an argument. Amaya alleges that during the fight, Avila pulled out a machete and attacked her. Since the incident, Avila has not returned home and police are now actively seeking him for questioning.
