B.B.B./B.T.B. team up for arts and craft show

This week the Belize Business Bureau and the Belize Tourism Board have teamed up to hold the first annual Arts, Craft, and Wood Show at the House of Culture in Belize City. The three-day fair features the work of more than forty businesses from across the country. The displays are open to Belizeans and visitors alike and local items are on sale. The event officially opened this morning and according to coordinator Marga Sanchez the idea is to promote small and medium entrepreneurs.

?We are targeting Belizeans, exclusively Belizeans. All products made out here, all food and the wood people, the wood manufacturers, the furniture people, the T-shirts are all Belizean made.?

?The turn out, this morning, we had some people here. We are expecting some more tourists to arrive. We are hoping that tomorrow and Thursday is a better day. We have been having on and off rain, so I don?t know if that is what is keeping them back, but we are hoping Belizeans would be here after five, because the reason we are taking the show until eight tonight is so that when they leave work at five they can come visit the show and buy at very discounted prices also.?

The show continues on Wednesday and Thursday with gates opening at ten in the morning. Presentations end at eight in the night.
