Unitedville Murder Suspect Steven Gomez Captured in Belmopan

Early Saturday morning, at around three am, Unitedville resident Victor Vargas was stabbed to the neck and bled to death shortly after. Since then Police have been looking for a teenager believed to be responsible for the vicious murder, and tonight he is in custody. Police believe that nineteen-year-old Steven Gomez, who has been missing from the village since Saturday, stabbed Vargas because of a two week-old altercation. This morning, Gomez showed up in Belmopan, and coincidentally Cayo Police who knew his wanted status were close by.

Via Phone: Insp. Reymundo Reyes, Deputy O.C., San Ignacio Police Formation

“This morning sometime around ten o’clock while attending Supreme Court here in Belmopan, information was received that the person we were looking for, one Steven Gomez, was somewhere in the vicinity of First Caribbean Bank. It appears that he had a case here in Belmopan also. As a result checks were made and we managed to locate him and he has been detained, informed of the reason for his detention, and presently in Police custody in Belmopan.”

“Sir, the last time we spoke you said that the motive seemed to be an old beef between the two men. Is that still the belief based on investigation that you all have done?”

Via Phone: Insp. Reymundo Reyes

“So far the investigation is still young. We have people on the ground recording statements and we hope that when we interview Mr. Steven Gomez today, since he was a person of interest that we would be able to follow up and maybe at the end of the day do an arrest in respect of this murder case.”

  1. Uncle Benji says:

Again, nice work Belmopan Police. But you are wasting your time arresting people. Shoot them. End of story.

There is an attorney that leads the DPP’s office and she is so inept that she will lose the case in court. Here are some of Cheryl-Lynn Vidal biggest fiascos:

1… Passports scandal – no one is guilty.
2… Venezuelan funds – no one is guilty.
3,,, Abou-Nehra (Bou Nahra) case – no one is guilty.

Remember prosecutor Elizabeth Purcell, a British attorney retained to tighten up the police prosecutions department.? Do you know why she quit her job? Cheryl Lynn Vidal.
