Clifford Hoare Brings It…And Wins Big!

The spectacular grand finale of our summer entertainment show took place on Tuesday night at the Bliss. The live broadcast of If you can Sing it, Bring It started with a red carpet event which featured the arrival of finalists Chanelle Parks, Maryln Vansen and Clifford Hoare, coaches as well as other guests. The memorable moments of the season were relived by the audience in the Bliss auditorium as well as by viewers at home and overseas as expectation grew for the finalists. In the end, it was the voting public which determined who would walk away with the ten thousand dollars cash prize. Duane Moody hosted the red carpet and has the following report.

Clifford Hoare from Cayo is the winner of season one of If You Can Sing It, Bring It.

The participants, all talented singers in their own right, first auditioned for the competition back in early June. From the twenty selected from over forty-eight persons, only fifteen took to the stage at the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts. And on Tuesday night, after eight weeks of competition in various themed performances, Belize City’s Marlyn Vansen, Belmopan’s Chanelle Parks and Cayo’s Clifford Hoare were the finalists contending for the ten thousand dollars cash prize, a recording contract with one of Belize’s top music producers and a music video.

The event featured a Red Carpet pre-show followed by mind-blowing performances by all three finalists and their coaches as well as a mega performance by Carnival King, TR Shine.

As it came down to the final hour, the results were in and against all odds; Clifford came out on top and took the title as champ.

“I can’t even think correct Mister Moody. The feeling inside my body, you have no idea. I never thought I could feel this way. But I did. It is overwhelming. I thank so much my supporters in Cayo: back to my roots, West Line, many more. I thank them so much; because this is all not just my work, but team work from the entire Cayo district and Belize…people who have been voting.”

One of the big names taking the social media polls by storm and winning the hearts of Belizeans countrywide was Chanelle Parks. Chanelle was a consistently vocally sound artist on stage and her coach for the season, Jenny Lovell, emphatically believes that it set her apart from the other finalists.

“Chanelle is going to win because she has been consistent. If you go back and look at all the shows, she was consistent from the auditions right through until last week. Consistency; she works hard, she has drive, she is dedicated and she puts in everything that is needed to be done to be a star.”

“I’m so elated. I see some of my friends from Belmopan and they have signs and they are so cute. Thank you for coming and my family is here; I feel so blessed. If I win, it is going to be wonderful, if I don’t, I’ll be okay with it. I’ll be a little bit disappointed, but life goes on and I am still very blessed to have gotten this opportunity to show Belize my talent.”

As we said, Marlyn was also a finalist in the competition this year and once again took second place. She spoke of what’s in store for her as an artist in the Belize music world.

“Again…again. I feel okay about it. It is kinda sad that someone had to come in third place. I wish everyone could have come in first including myself of course. But I guess, this is what the public wants. So it is what it is. But I’m okay with second place again. It is wonderful. Even though I didn’t win all that, I will still be recording songs, you will see me on shows no doubt…I will make sure of it. I will be making a music video so look out for that anyway. I will be around and I will make sure I become the next big thing anyway.”

Congratulations to Clifford,  Marlyn and Channelle …you are all winners. Duane Moody for News Five.
