Fuel prices drop for second time this month
For the second time this month, fuel prices have actually gone down. The new prices at the pump are nine dollars and eight cents for premium, down eighteen cents from nine-twenty-six. Regular has gone from eight dollars and ninety-six cents to eight dollars and eighty-one cents. That’s a decrease of fifteen cents. Diesel has dropped from seven dollars and one cent to six-seventy-eight, a twenty-three cent break. After a ten dollar climax this year, motorists pulling into the Esso gas station on Freetown Road welcomed the reprieve.
Oneida Shaw, Motorist
?I guess it would be good that it is going down because things hard out here. So that?s all I can say. I hope it can go down a little bit more you know and it will be much better for us you know because most people use their vehicles to go to work and do a lot of ups and downs and if the fuel prices are so high then we can?t use our vehicles.?
Gliksten Bennett, Taxi Driver
?Well I feel very good about it. I think what the government should have done in the beginning was to raise the gas high and start bringing it back down, because what happens as we are getting poorer, the gas is getting more expensive.?
Tonight we are left to assume that changes in acquisition costs are responsible for the decreases as up to news time there was no official word on the new fuel prices.
