Neighbour to be charged in Maxboro home fire

A young woman is in police custody tonight in connection with a home fire in the Maxboro community on the Northern Highway. According to police, one person has been detained pending charges of burglary and arson. Reports to News Five are that the woman, who lives next door to the victim, was ratted out by her boyfriend, who came home on Friday night and found his home filled with the belongings of teacher Judith Jones. We understand that among the stolen items was a king sized mattress, a microwave, a carpet, a carpet liner, and even dirty clothes. Reports are that the accused knew the location of a hidden key and used it to enter the home after Jones left for work on Friday morning. It is believed that after carting off goods from the home, the accused set fire to the living room furniture.
