Dangriga Police Crack Down Drugs and Ammunition
Still in the south of the country – Dangriga Police report that this morning they conducted anti-drug operations in that municipality. The operation included the Special Branch Unit, the Dangriga Quick Response Team, the Crimes Investigation Branch and the K-9 Unit. Using intelligence gathered, the units first went to the residence of Darwin Duran in the Wageirale Area of Dangriga Town. A search of the home turned up a total of eleven point five ounces of cannabis. Duran was arrested and charged for drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. The units then approached Dangriga resident Charles Gamboa near North River Side. They report that Gamboa threw a black plastic bag on top of a building. They retrieved the bag and found it to contain sixty-eight grams of cannabis. Gamboa was arrested and charged for drug trafficking. While on the roof a search by Police led to the discovery of two nine millimeter pistols and ammunition. Those were labeled as found property. And finally the Police conducted a search in an abandoned lot on Rare Pine Street. They found a transparent plastic bag with twenty-three foil-wrapped parcels of crack cocaine, totally four grams. It was labeled as found property since there was nobody in the area during the search.
