Outspoken San Ignacio O.C. Puts His Foot In His Mouth
It’s been four days since Danny Conorquie was murdered at the Caracol Mayan Site; on Sunday, he was laid to rest after an emotional funeral service. We have that story coming up. But tonight, there appears to be confusion, at least in government, over who killed the former tourism police special constable from Georgeville, Cayo. The young officer was shot in the back while protecting tourists at the Caracol Mayan Site and it prompted an investigation by the Cayo Police. On Friday, Cayo police said that they believed that three Guatemalans executed Conorquie and on Sunday, Officer Commanding the San Ignacio Police Formation, Assistant Superintendent Dinsdale Thompson, made the announcement at the funeral services of Conorquie held in Georgeville. Now listen carefully, because Thompson’s words are explosive – especially when taken in the context of Foreign Minister Wilfred “Sedi” Elrington’s comments on the incident. Thompson says Guatemalans pulled the trigger, and it is time to rise up.
ASP Dinsdale Thompson, O.C., San Ignacio Police Formation
“We have done all that we can do in relation to investigations. Our officers went out there…we have interviewed and are still interviewing some more people in relation to who have seen and heard certain evidence that we can put together. And what we can conclude with our investigation that it is not Belizean. It is not any other Central American but Guatemalans that have done this. And it is more than time for us Belizeans to rise up when it comes to those who want to just come across our soil and take our lives or take our possessions in the way that they are presently doing it. Tomorrow I understand that there is a rally, a demonstration in support of the family and in support of peace within the country of Belize, saying that we Belizeans are tired of Guatemalans coming here and just intruding upon our lands and taking our lives, taking our substance just for the sake of taking them how they want. Belize law is that this is Belize. This belongs to Belize. This is not another country’s land, but this is Belize land. Our laws must prevail. Our laws must take its place when it comes to the protection of lives and property relating to Belize. Danny’s life for sure we are celebrating it…but goes toward saying it is time for us to raise up, because when we see that other nationals are coming to our country and killing the citizens of Belize, not only the citizens of Belize but law enforcement officers…then it is saying something to us that we can’t sit down anymore and allow this type of behaviour by foreigners upon this land anymore.”
Yeah! Way to go. Eye for an eye. Guatemala’s 100K kaibil commandos are ready, itching and waiting to take on Belize 2K ragtag BDF boys. Come on. Get real. Diplomacy is the key to this border problem. Diplomacy baby.
I dont see nothing wrong. He said the truth. You kill one guatemalan and even the prime minister give the family money. It is about time to open our eyes. Other wise guatemala will take over in no time.
I cannot believe this is happening in my so called democratic country!!! When the hell did we become a totalitarian state with a communist government? When a countries citizenry cannot speak the truth for fear of government persecution then that is the true definition of Totalitarianism; Totalitarianism or totalitarian state is a concept used by some political scientists in which the state holds total authority over the society and seeks to control all aspects of public and private life wherever possible. When our security forces shot a guatemalan INVADER in SELF-DEFENCE the gutemalan government was quick to condemn the incident, they did not ask for proof and they were not concerned that maybe just maybe he had gotten shot by friendly fire by his fellow INVADER. They didn’t wait for an investigation before calling foul. People wake up!!! Your ”government” has sold you out just like the bunch of Judas that they are. There is a reason that they are covering up for the gutemalans and that unknown reason is why they are so quick to betray their own in favor of an enemy country; yes an enemy country as I can guarantee you that is the way the gutemalan government looks at us. We have been invaded from within and the gutemalans are in control and we have failed to come to terms with that. They have their hands up Elirington’s butt and are moving his mouth; Elrington is a guatemalan at heart he is their little lap dog and a traitor to his people.
In my opinion ASP Thomspon reflects the opinion of the common man. We have seen far too many of these crimes and little is done on the Guatemalan side to bring down these criminals. By not co-operating then it seems that they are saying “we do not care”. Someone had to have the balls to say it…today it was ASP Thomspon…kudos to him…..and its not that we hate foreigners …its that we hate crime…PERIOD!!!
You have my full support, Mr. Thompson. Well done.
We have not apprehend a suspect for the killing,so how could we say it was a Guatemalan. The suspect was described as hispanic.Hispanic could be Belizean,or anybody from Mexico,or any part of Central America.
And we need to demand an apology, and FULL compensation from the Guatemalan governemnt, IF they have one!!!!!! This is serious people. The chiney man we defen his self gaan da jail, and fi wi people we ge shaat fa de pippl craas the border dem de run bout free!!! what the hell
His comments are borderline encouraging vigilantes and lynch mobs. Not appropriate for an OC of the Belize Police department. What will he say when some Belizean on a Guinness fueled rampage beats on a Guatamalan just for being on the street.
I guess the learned inspector will be the new Police fleet director.
