Gospel takes centre stage on Saturday night

Story PictureYou have four days to get ready for Saturday night in Belize City when the Heavenlies Gospel Band presents Spiritual Revolution Chapter Five. The concert will feature Jamaican artists Chevelle Franklyn, Sherwin Gardner, and a host of local singers and musicians. According to the artists and producers, the concert is for the entire family and parents and children are encouraged to attend. Both Franklyn and Gardner say that despite all the faith shaking tragedies, violence, and disasters that are occurring across the globe, they do not find it a challenge to promote positive change, especially among the younger population.

Chevelle Franklyn, Gospel Singer
?I think what they need is for you to is be real with them and let them know that I?ve been through; I may still be going through, some of the challenges that you?ve been through. So I think what most of them want is just the realness and to hear that regardless of what they?ve done God still loves them and there?s a great plan for their lives; just to encourage them. And once you know that, then you find it?s easy, then you find it real easy. For some it?s kind hard, but…?

Jacqueline Woods
?How rewarding is it for you to know that maybe after a night?s performance you?ve changed someone?s life??

Sherwin Gardner, Gospel Singer
?Well that?s what it?s about at the end of the day. We don?t just sing because we have a nice voice and because people love the music or anything like that. What we do it for is to bring change to people?s life, whether it be them accepting Jesus Christ, or even understanding a message that could help them to even go further in fulfilling their dream, their potential and their purpose or their destiny, that?s what it?s all about.?

?The night of the concert is going to be exactly what the name implies it to be, fully loaded. We are going to have a host of local talented artists who are going to minister?not just entertain or perform, but they are presently working overtime, perfecting what they do so that come the twelfth they?ll be able to effectively minister. And when that force is over them, then we step it up to another level by bringing Sherwin and Chevelle on to the stage. And I believe it?s just going to be explosive.?

Chevelle Franklyn
?We still have to pray together, just to be our brother?s keeper to not separate ourselves from each other. And that?s the reason why this concert, to me and to Sherwin Gardner will mean so much, because just coming together and being united for one night can make a total difference.?

The show starts at eight on Saturday night at the Belize City Centre. Tickets can be bought in advance for twenty-five dollars at all leading record shops or at the door for thirty dollars.
