CET student picked up for $13,000 burglary

A Centre for Employment Training student is accused of burglarising a home on the Western Highway and then going on a spending spree with the cash. Jovan Tillett pleaded not guilty to burglary and handling stolen goods charges before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord today, but was remanded to prison until the trial later this month. Tillett, who lives at mile eight on the Western Highway, was picked up by police, but not before he had already purchased a five hundred dollar gold chain, designer tennis shoes, a watch, and several other items. He was also found with several hundred dollars in U.S. and Belize currency. On October thirty-first Egbert Rudon told police that his home at mile seven and three quarter on the Western Highway had been broken into and thirteen thousand dollars in cash, a twelve gauge shotgun, and a twenty-two gauge Winchester rifle were missing.
