Robert’s Grove Rift Goes to Supreme Court

Michael Kramer

Two shareholders of Robert’s Groove of Placencia have been at war over the running of the company.  Today, the matter was heard in trial by Supreme Court Judge, Sonja Young. Jean Marc Tesse, the majority shareholder of the resort is seeking an injunction to his removal as director of the resort. That removal, his attorney, Hubert Elrington argued, is illegal, null and void and today they sought the court’s intervention. Arguments were heard and after trial both Marc Tesse and Michael Kramer appeared optimistic. Judge Young has reserved her ruling on the matter for November tenth. According to Elrington, Kramer was appointed by Marc Tesse to the board but he has joined minority shareholder, Borris Mansfield of Mansfield Family Partnership, to oust Marc Tesse. According to Elrington, the minority shareholder has thirty-three percent and while the majority shareholder has sixty-six percent control of the resort. Kramer spoke to our court reporter this afternoon.

Michael Kramer, Board Director, Robert’s Grove

“The board of directors of Robert’s Grove has approved or resolved, made reservations to remove Mister Marc Tesse as manager of the resort. And when I mean manager, I mean any involvement or operation with the administration or supervisory or signatory on any bank account. That has been our resolution and Mister Marc Tesse has made an application for an injunction to basically reverse that and to put himself back as the manager and we are defending ourselves.”

“So right now he is not the manager?”

Michael Kramer

“Right now he is not the manager per the resolutions of the Board of Directors.”

Reporter

“So today in court, Judge Sonya Young heard the mater and the decision will be on the tenth of November. As to the proceeding today, how do you feel about coming to a finalization on the tenth?”

Michael Kramer

“Like I said, I feel good about our position; that we are on the side of justice and I feel certain that she will see the same thing and will rule in our favor.”
