Dorado Gets Jail Time for Assault
Thirty-four year old mile-eight community resident, Angel Dorado, was slapped with additional jail time today after he was found guilty of wounding his next door neighbor, Paul McCord. Dorado’s trial concluded today before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith. He was sentenced to two years imprisonment to run consecutively with a six month sentence he is presently serving. In his trial for wounding, Dorado was unrepresented. McCord, the prosecutor’s main witness, testified that on September eighteenth, 2013, he was heading home when he saw Dorado place something in the bushes near his home. McCord said that when he checked, he saw a black plastic bag which contained marijuana. He said he removed the bag and placed it into his back pocket to take to a police officer who lived nearby. But before he could travel further, he was attacked by Dorado who grabbed the bag of weed from him. He said Dorado punched him in his face, fracturing his cheek bone and cutting his lip.
