Roger Anthony Suffers Relapse: Criminal Charges on the Way
Thirteen days ago, reputed gang leader Roger Anthony, bolstered by the Gang Suppression Unit chief, Mark Flowers, gave a televised statement renouncing gang life, in this case the Ghost Town Crips. It was a big announcement because Anthony was claiming that he was involved with the gang for about twenty six years and that he was now going straight and narrow. But all that was short-lived because tonight, the news is that Anthony is in custody. Now, the Gang Suppression Unit nor the police are talking except to confirm that Anthony was detained on Sunday night following a shooting at the house of the dreaded Meighans brothers, Ellis and Shakille, on Banak Street. The Meighans are also known to be affiliated to the Ghost Town Gang. This evening, there is word that Anthony is being charged jointly with one Kendis Flowers, who is also associated with the Ghost Town Gang. The charges are Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault and Damage to Property. Anthony will additionally be charged with Kept Firearm without a Gun License. News Five’s Isani Cayetano reports.

The prospect of leaving one’s criminal past behind in favor of a new life anchored in faith and family is an intention that is oftentimes easier said than done. Regrettably, the outcome for many who choose the code of the streets over the laws of the land is either death or incarceration. Less than two weeks ago, thirty-seven-year-old Roger Anthony, reputed leader of the Ghost Town Crips, publicly renounced his gang affiliation.

“I’m here today to say that the gang life that I’ve been in for the past twenty-six years, that ain’t the life. I think we as leaders need to make a change and help the police, especially the gang Suppression Unit and stand strong and work with the leaders of the community so that we can make a change.”
Tonight, he is back in the news, following a shooting incident on Sunday in which the Meighan residence on Banak Street was targeted during an armed assault. It is unclear what precipitated last night’s shooting but sometime after ten o’clock, a volley of shots rang out in the vicinity. While no one was injured, Anthony has been arrested for his alleged role in the incident. According to police, quick response by officers in the area led to his detention. Found on his person was a nine millimeter handgun. The arrest comes hard on the heels of a recent announcement by GSU commander Mark Flowers.

“We’ve been able to at this point in time have some of the leading figures agreeing to not only desist from these criminal activities but to denounce these activities. And I am certainly pleased that Roger Anthony who is hear and who will speak for himself will tell you justice and his encouragement to other young folks to also desist and to denounce these sorts of activities.”
There are certainly more questions than answers in the wake of the overnight shooting, leading to speculation of a rift within the hierarchy of the gang.

“I am going to renounce that I am no leader of no gang am just a leader of a work group with Mr. Cisco and that is what I am going to carry on after this and I just hope that the other gang leaders pick up that what I am doing and continue and we will live in a peaceful country without violence.”
A total of four expended shells were subsequently recovered from the scene. Meanwhile Anthony remains in police custody pending charges. Reporting for News Five, I am Isani Cayetano.

Growing up with Mark Flowers, the boy was an outright dunce in school. This story proves that some things never change in life.

WTF?? SO WAT IS TAKING LONG FOR D GSU NOT TO ARREST THESE PESTS IF THEY NO WHO THEY ARE??? D GSU KNOW WHO THE GANG LEADERS ARE…. WELL GSU, ELIMINATE THEM ONE TIME RATHER THAN CONTINUE ABUSE INNOCENT CIVILIANS..
If I had to give a description of the IQ and a personal recommendation of Mark Flowers, it would be full of a bunch of not so kind adjectives and expletives. This dood clamours attention and I’ve said before that’s a dangerous trait for one that has power; his, as the head of GSU. He’s going to be a public relations nightmare! Remove him! It seems as if we’ve already forgotten the claims recently brought against him by the mechanic, the woman and also about his immigration offenses, which I know he was involved in something because his name was called in a conversation a few years ago. GSU harasses the innocent, including just recently, a couple of SJC Sixth Form students who were trying to get home walking. They have no common sense but knowingly let some of these criminals run the streets. It’s baffling how these young Meighan kids are still alive and haven’t been incarcerated even with what the streets know of their involvement in serious crimes. Word on the street is because they operate with impunity because they are the Po-PO Snitches.
