B.B.B.F.F. Accused of Misappropriation of Funds

According to Cricel Castillo, the Olympic Association told her that they gave the B.B.B.F.F. money to support Rigo Vellos and herself with funding for airfares. That money allegedly never reached Castillo, and that’s where the nasty and very public allegations of misappropriation come into play. Moody has a different version of events, and told the media today that the funds were specifically to pay for his plane ticket, and not for Castillo.

“The specific allegation she has made against you is that she wouldn’t have known that the Olympic Committee gave funds to her and Mr. Vellos for this Arnold Classic sponsorship had she not written and that is the reason she decided to go off about what has occurred. So could we get a response from you? Did you take funds that were allocated for her and Mr. Vellos for your travel arrangements?”

“No…I did not! The funds I got were specified for Stanley Moody. When I received my funds Cricel and Rigo already had their plane tickets and hotel booked. Cricel was a lone ranger. She wanted to have nothing to do with the Executive of the B.B.B.F.F. Cricel was not representing Belize. Cricel was representing herself. She refused to go on Channel Five because she would not go on with any of the Executives of the B.B.B.F.F.  She wanted her own TV show when it was time to promote the Arnold Classic. Cricel is lying when she said she approached me. Not once did Cricel every approach me. Not once did Cricel every approach me in regards to any funds for the Arnold Classic.”

“The action taken in regards to Ms. Castillo was not only fair…it was transparent. We have given her every opportunity to hear her side of the story and I just want to say that really at the end of the day the most important organ is the institution. As heroic and as egotistical as some people might seem to be, at the end of the day it is the institution that is the primary instrument. I just want to make that point clear.”
