Cayo Police Bust Woman With Crack

There is also news coming from the west. San Ignacio Police are reporting a drug arrest in that municipality while officers were on mobile patrol in Santa Elena Town. Around two-thirty on Thursday afternoon, a patrol unit came up on a grey Jeep Cherokee with Belize City licence plates parked in front of Highway Restaurant in Santa Elena Town. During a search of the vehicle for drugs and firearm, nothing illegal was found, but the vehicle and its occupants were taken to the station for a further search. On arrival at the station, a search was conducted on female passenger, twenty-eight year old Therese Jennifer Soto, who is a resident of St. Mathews Village in the Cayo District. The search of Soto led to the discovery of a transparent plastic bag containing fourteen point four grams of suspected crack cocaine. Police formally arrested and charge Soto today with Possession of a Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply.
