Mid-afternoon Shooting on North Front Street, Andrew Tate and Carl Lino Injured
There have been four murders in the past five murders, including that of Corwin Mendoza. This afternoon the violence continued with a brazen shooting on a busy street in the Old Capital. Shortly after two o’clock, gunshots rang out on North Front Street near the Image Factory. The mid-afternoon shooting has left two persons hospitalized with varying degrees of injuries, one clinging to life at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. News Five understands that one man, identified as Carl Lino, was shot in the area of his thigh by officers responding to the incident. Lino, it is believed, accosted Andrew Tate, also known as Andrew Black, and shot him once in the head. While attempting to flee the scene of the shooting, Lino, reportedly a resident of Dangriga, was fired upon by police. Police told us late this evening that they are still investigating the matter. According to police press officer Douglas Hyde, footage from surveillance cameras in the immediate area of the shooting is under review. We will have more on this story in Thursday’s newscast.
