2 Men charged for Robbing A&R Employee
An employee of A and R Shopping Center was robbed as he was heading to the bank to make a deposit. The employee was intercepted and robbed by two suspects who police escorted to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today to answer to a single charge of Robbery. The suspects have been identified as Damian Leslie and Norman Tillett, of Neal’s Pen Road, Belize City. It is alleged that on Thursday the duo robbed Eugenio Edwardo Tuz, of cash and cheques totaling four thousand one hundred and twenty six dollars, the property of A and R. In court, both pleaded not guilty to the charge of robbery. But the police prosecutor, Corporal Christopher Smith, objected to bail being granted due to the prevalence of the crime and on the grounds that the suspects may interfere with the prosecution. Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith remanded both Leslie and Tillett to the Belize Central Prison. Tuz was riding a bicycle when he was assaulted and the bag containing the cash and cheques were stolen from him.
