Physician will not appear in rape case
In the Supreme Court today, both the prosecution and defence closed their cases in the alleged rape of an eighteen-year-old girl by Crispin Jeffries Junior. All that is left now is for the prosecution, defence, and presiding judge Adolph Lucas, to make their final presentations and then hand over the case to the jury for deliberations. Of note is the fact that the examining doctor in the trial, Cuban national Dr. Daniel Avila, is out of the county and it was made clear he would not appear. The young woman testified that Jeffries raped her at a hotel on the night of March thirteenth, 2004.
