Carlos Sanchez Gets Eighteen Months in Jail For Sexual Assault

A Honduran national is convicted of two counts of sexual assault upon a mother and her eleven year old daughter. Carlos Perez Sanchez, who is originally from Dangriga but was living in Sand Hill, is now a resident of the Belize Central Prison, after he was convicted late Tuesday evening in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on two sexual assault charges. Sanchez reportedly touched a thirty-nine year old woman and her daughter inappropriately on their buttocks on Monday as they were walking on Cemetery Road. Sanchez was soon after arrested and charged for the assault. When he appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer, he pleaded guilty to the offenses, telling the court that he cannot remember anything because he was drunk. Senior Magistrate Frazer imposed two custodial sentences of eighteen months to run consecutively.
