Will Audrey Matura-Shepherd Be Allowed to Speak?

Ezekiel Cansino

On Monday, firebrand attorney Audrey Matura-Shepherd filed an injunction to stop the signing of an agreement between the two parties. But tonight, where does she fit into the equation? As you’ve noted, there are two distinct factions in the B.S.C.F.A. – one which wants to sign now, and one which doesn’t. The group which wants to delay the signing plans to invite her to Sunday’s AGM to break down the agreement to farmers. The other faction doesn’t want that happening, so that should in itself provide for an interesting sideshow on Sunday.

Ezequiel Cansino, Chairman, Committee of Management, B.S.C.F.A.

“That point was not discussed and I think that to my knowledge that will not be accepted.”

“I believe that farmers have to understand that our move, our action, for having an injunction is to give them the last opportunity to understand fully the full content of the agreement which was not presented at the last special AGM. So that is why I believe that if there is a rumor that someone says that they will not allow Miss Matura to address the membership, I believe that it is premature to believe that that decision will prevail. I will stand there as a cane farmer, I have the full right, to call the chairman, ask the chairman, to allow Miss Matura to address, to explain to the membership the complicated agreement as it stands that people have not yet been fully informed of current context of the agreement. And not only to the chairman that I will address him to allow Miss Matura, but I will ask permission from the general floor.”

  1. Louisville, Ky. says:

If the Caneros prevent Audrey from addressing the general membership in an effort to educate them about the fine prints in that agreement, then all they need to do is assume the position and tek di bukut when ASR get ready fi dish it out.
It is obvious that BSI/ASR have a hidden agenda why they are adamant that the agreement Must, be signed before grinding commence, when in fact the by-laws do not say that.
We know, (and so does ASR) that thing tight outta road with the Farmers but, it’s best that they stand up now, or bow and scrape behind ASR for the next 7 years, by which time their fields would have come into full production, when they would not be needing the Farmers, thus reduce the entire BSCFA to mere cane cutters.
You all need to take Audrey’s ‘foolish’ advice.
That dah weh I gah fu seh!.
