Lamb Charged for Boxing Day Rape

Forty-five-year-old Vanzie Lamb was arraigned this morning before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser on a single charge of rape.  The indictment succeeds an allegation by a twenty-two-year-old woman that she was sexually assaulted by Lamb in the early hours of Boxing Day.  According to the victim, she was walking along Antelope Street Extension sometime after twelve a.m. when she was accosted by Lamb.  The woman says she was held up at knifepoint and forced onto his bicycle then taken to his home on Baracat Street where he forcibly had intercourse with her. In court this morning, Lamb appeared unrepresented and was not asked for a plea since the matter will be heard in Supreme Court.  Bail was objected and Lamb was remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until February twenty-third, 2015.  Of note is that this is the second such incident Lamb has been accused of.  In 2013, he was acquitted of rape after facing eight years in prison.
