Charges filed against robber shot by victim

He’s been nursing his wounds in the hospital ever since an intended robbery victim returned fire with a vengeance, but now twenty-three year old Darren Waight is well enough to face a judge for his alleged crimes. Waight, of Allan Pitts Crescent, was formally arraigned today in the court of Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord. The charges are attempted robbery, possession of a prohibited firearm, and two counts of aggravated assault. It is alleged that Waight attempted to rob businessman Charles McIntosh at his home in Ladyville on August eighteenth. After Waight loosed a shot from his sawed-off sixteen gauge, McIntosh drew his thirty-eight revolver and squeezed off six rounds, a number of which sent Waight to the K.H.M.H.
