Ride-by shooter identified and charged
An arrest has been made in a ride-by shooting in Belize City on Thursday morning. Leon Soberanis of Raccoon Street Extension was identified by two men, Jason Crawford and Elroy Grey, who told police that around eight a.m. they were sitting in Crawford’s yard on Faber’s Road when a man they knew as “Tunu” passed by on a bike and fired several shots at them with a nine millimetre pistol. Fortunately, no one was injured. Soberanis appeared in court today and was charged with two counts of aggravated assault. He pleaded not guilty, but was remanded to custody until September ninth.
