Chain snatchers quickly rounded up by cops…
A robbery in downtown Belize City has been foiled and three suspects quickly apprehended and charged. Police say around eleven on Tuesday morning, thirty-two year old Mexican national Lisbet Lagos was standing outside of Brodies Pharmacy on Regent Street when two young men approached and snatched two gold chains from her neck. Lagos quickly alerted a police patrol that just happened to be in the area and the officers, following a search in the vicinity, apprehended two men fitting the description provided by Lagos. They are twenty-three year old Maurice Usher and a fifteen year old minor. Further investigations led police to the arrest of a third man identified as twenty-five year old Jairo Sedacy. As for the jewelry? Police recovered one of the chains from a suspect, but it took them longer to locate the other as it had already been sold. Nonetheless, that piece of gold was also retrieved. As a result, Sedacy and Usher have been charged with handling stolen property, while Usher and the minor have both been charged with robbery.
