Burglary suspect also gave false name
On Friday’s newscast we reported on the apprehension of a suspected burglar who made the mistake of breaking into the house of the Commander of the Belize Defence Force. Today we are informed that the accused also made the error of giving police a phoney name. Today, the man originally known as Mike Godoy of Oleander Street was formally arraigned under his real name, Donald King, a resident of Democracia Village. He was charged with committing a mischievous act in addition to the pending burglary charge. King pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of two thousand, five hundred dollars. The cops discovered the name discrepancy after the real Mike Godoy saw the newscast and complained that someone was giving him a bad name.
