Former Anchor Security Employee Detained in Belmopan Murder

A former employee of Anchor Security tonight remains in custody pending investigation into the murder of sixty year old Feliciano Richard Noralez. Mister Mac, as he was affectionately known, was on the night shift at the security firm when he was hacked to death. The security officer of Xunantunich Street, Belmopan, had reported for duty around six p.m. on Monday along with his supervisor, Mark Munnings. But at about two-thirty a.m., Munnings left the office located on the second floor of the building to check posts throughout the municipality, leaving Noralez alone. On his return hours later, he made the gruesome discovery; Noralez had been chopped multiple times to the head and upper body and his right hand was amputated. A man was seen fleeing the establishment prior to the discovery and a distress call was immediately sent out to Belmopan police. All equipment belonging to Anchor Security has been accounted for, but the service nine millimeter Luger brand pistol along with a magazine containing eight live rounds of ammunition assigned to Noralez are missing. Noralez’s Verizon Samsung Smart phone with calling number 670-3063 and his wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash have also not been located. Investigations continue into this homicide in the Capital.
