Murder Charge Reduced to Manslaughter

Jeremiah Pott

Today, fifty year old Jeremiah Pott pleaded guilty to the charge of manslaughter of his brother, fifty seven year old Fidencio Pott. Jeremiah was sentenced to twelve years in prison, but ordered to serve only seven since he begged for the court’s mercy. At mitigation plea, Jeremiah with the advice of his attorney, David Moralez, pleaded guilty and begged for mercy. Judge Lucas, in sentencing, told Jeremiah that he must take into consideration the aggravating and mitigation factors. After considering those, he deducted one year because the accused pleaded guilty to the offense and did not waste the court’s time in a trial.  He also deducted four more years for the time spent behind bars since he was accused of committing the incident, therefore reducing the sentence to a total of seven years. Jeremiah was first charged for his brother’s murder, which took place on March twenty six, 2011. The brothers were said to have been socializing at a friend’s home in Bermudian Landing when they got into an argument and that’s when Jeremiah took a spade and hit his brother Fidencio on the head. His brother fell to the ground, and it is alleged that Jeremiah kept hitting him whilst he was on the ground. The brother, who was unconscious as a result of the injuries, was taken to the hospital but died five days later.

This killer asked for mercy and then wore a cross around his neck. These people should be lucky that God is not like man or he would be struck dead for mockery.

A man who can brutally kill his brother, stood over him while he was already down and beat him some more in my opinion does not deserve any special mercy. Mercy gives him the ticket to do it again when he gets out of prison in seven years.
