N.T.U.C.B. meets with Prime Minister on S.S.B. Director’s Nomination
About a week ago we spoke with the new president of the N.T.U.C.B., Marvin Mora; he told us that they were confident that the Prime Minister would be reasonable in his assessment of Floyd Neal’s appointment to the Social Security Board. The S.S.B. has rejected Neal’s appointment on the grounds of conflict of interest. Mora told News Five that there are measures that can be taken to allow for Neal’s appointment, but so far the S.S.B. hasn’t changed its position. Well, the N.T.U.C.B. has now met with Prime Minister Barrow to discuss the Neal matter. The meeting was held in Belmopan on Monday and while details are not available, it is known that the N.T.U.C.B. will be reporting the outcome of that meeting to the General Council. From what we can gather, the N.T.U.C.B. is sticking to its position, which is that Neal is the N.T.U.C.B.’s representative to the S.S.B.
