Case Due Back in Court March 10th

Kareem Musa

Curtis Swasey was present today, but declined comment. Still, the case in which he is suing for damages is based primarily on his expectations after more than two years of delivering his concept and product to B.T.L.  Today, his attorney outlined those expectations.

Kareem Musa, Attorney for Curtis Swasey

“Certainly to be where MMR is today, Mek Mi Rich, certainly to have that game show. He even met with the Gaming License Committee and all that. He was well underway but again in August of 2014 B.T.L. said that’s not in line with their strategy…not in line with their strategy but then two weeks later they come out with the same program, so what is that telling you?”

“And if I could ask, the letter of August 2014 came as a complete surprise? There was every indication that B.T.L. was working with you, with Mr. Swasey to form a partnership?”

Kareem Musa

“That email came as a shock to Mr. Swasey but what came as a greater shock was when the first show premiered and all of his friends and family were calling and saying bwoy you mek it big. Up to this day they’re still calling, people are still calling and saying congratulations, bwoy you did a wonderful job, you’re now going to be a millionaire. So those are the calls he continues to get on a daily basis, so it certainly hurts. It’s certainly shocking to have your dreams shattered like that.”

Reporter

“Has there been any contact between Mr. Swasey and person he used to associate with at B.T.L. since the filing of this suit?”

Kareem Musa

“Yes he did make attempts to contact them but they told him speak to our lawyers. That was their response…speak to our lawyers.”

News Five tried to get a comment from officials at Mek Mi Rich today, but we were also directed to their attorneys. B.T.L. also has not yet offered comment.
