Swasey Says ‘Mek Mi Rich’ Was HIS Idea

According to Musa, the non-disclosure agreement between B.T.L. and Swasey specifically says that no information can be shared within two years of the termination of the agreement. The relationship between the parties was terminated by email in August 2014 so Musa says it is quite clear the agreement was breached. But while that’s the technical aspect of the court case, Musa asked for the opportunity to vent politically on what he says is an outright and blatant injustice. One of the directors of Mek Mi Rich is the son of the deputy Prime Minister, and the head of B.T.L. is the son of the Prime Minister. So what it boils down to, says Musa, is just another case where normal Belizeans are pushed aside to make way for the interests of special Belizeans.

“We got information that the company Mek Mi Rich was actually operating under MMR Belize Limited. I guess the MMR stands for Mek Mi Rich. So we did a search on MMR Belize Limited and what we learned from that search was that this company which is now operating a similar if not identical game show to what Mr. Swasey had presented to B.T.L….this company is actually owned by two individuals – one is Cosme Hernandez and Sunil Daryanani for five thousand shares each, but what is even more interesting is that the director of this company is none other than the son of Gaspar Vega. His name is Andre Antonio Vega. So MMR Belize Limited which is now in business with B.T.L., and we know that the head of B.T.L. is Anwar Barrow…I don’t know if Anwar made the decision or the Board made the decision to shut the door on Mr. Swasey, but this is an ordinary Belizean. All this nonsense, and again I am saying this from a political standpoint…all this nonsense about U.D.P. first and Belizeans second or I am a normal Belizean and you are not…that nonsense has to stop. Those in power have to stop that nonsense. We have normal, ordinary citizens of this country coming up with wonderful ideas, exceptional ideas you know…people have to applaud the ingenuity of this man, Mr. Curtis Swasey…but here you have an instance where the doors were shut on this man shattering his dreams cause he had big dreams. Even though the Board and everybody told him you were going to be a young millionaire, they shut the doors on him and they gave way to this other company who is now operating a similar game show to what this man presented to B.T.L. from January of 2012.”
