Ladyville Trio Charged for Possession of Unlicensed Ammunition
Darryl Rowland, a real estate officer from Ladyville, along with two women, Angela Burns, a Second Class Clerk employed with the Belize City Prosecution Branch, and Jessie Stephenson, a visiting nurse from Los Angeles California, who resides at Mitchelle Estate area, Ladyville were this afternoon escorted to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court. They appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser to answer to charges of Kept Unlicensed Ammunition and Kept Prohibited Ammunition. Allegations are that on Valentine’s Day at Rowland’s house, police found a total of seven live rounds of ammunition. In court, the trio pleaded not guilty to the charges, and their attorney, Dickie Bradley made a submission for an expeditious trial since the nurse is merely visiting from the U.S. He also noted that the public officer is slated as a polling clerk for the March fourth, 2015 City Council elections and it is possible that she may still be on remand at the Central Prison so the government needed to he advised. The case was adjourned for April 2015. Bradley has already began the application for bail process which means the trio may be going to the Supreme Court by this Friday to apply for bail.
