Landlord charged in burglary of tenant
The relationship between a landlord and tenant is sometimes a rocky one, but rarely do things get as bad as the case heard today in the court of Magistrate Margaret Gabb. It seems that on the night of July twenty-eighth the residence of Alida Chan was burglarised, the major item stolen being a stereo set with two speakers. In the course of the police investigation, Chan told the officers that there was no forced entry and the only other person with a key was her landlord, thirty-five year old Stanley Flowers. Sure enough, when a search was conducted at the landlord’s house, there was Chan’s stereo. Today Flowers was charged with the crimes of burglary and handling stolen goods. He pleaded not guilty and was released on two thousand dollars bail. The case is adjourned until September twenty-ninth.
