Police in Precinct 2 Increase Presence
Bloodshed in the area known as Precinct Two was not so long ago almost a daily occurrence. But as we told you, thing have calmed down in the city while violence in the districts has escalated. So what’s the reason behind the sudden calm in the city? Today, Dawson told us that it’s a combination of increased numbers and enhanced community relations.
Sr. Supt. Alden Dawson, Commander, Precinct Two
“I would attribute a majority of what is going on right now where the quiet is concerned to cooperation from the public. We have seen a major increase in the relationship between the Police and the public, and we are getting a lot of assistance from the public and that has contributed to what is happening in the city at this time.”

“Would you also say that there has been a crackdown on people known to be affiliated with gangs?”
Sr. Supt. Alden Dawson
“Yes, of recent we have stepped up our numbers after the operation Not in My City came to a halt. The Police were distributed to the precincts and with that additional numbers we have covered more areas now and we are stepping up and have cracked down on the gang activity in the city.”
The last shooting in that area happened in mid-February, when fifty-six year old Charles Guy and nine year old Davian Sanchez were both shot in front of a Chinese Store on Faber’s Road.
