Murder on La Isla Bonita
But on the eve of the elections, one man was killed in San Pedro. Around eight-thirty on Tuesday night, San Pedro police responded to a shooting incident that left thirty-eight year old Pablito Barboza of San Pedrito Area, suffering with apparent gunshot wounds to the head and the chest area. Thirty-six year old Humberto Alcoser Junior of San Pedro Town was also seen suffering from apparent gunshot wound to the neck. Initial investigation revealed that shortly before eight, Barboza was inside his shop attending to Alcoser Junior, who was purchasing some items, when a lone gun man wearing a black cap with a blue rag tied around his face entered the shop and fired three shots hitting Barboza to his head and chest. Upon seeing this, Alcoser Junior tried to disarm the man when he was shot to his neck. The gun man then fled the area. Both men were rushed to the San Pedro Polyclinic, but Barboza was pronounced dead shortly after; meanwhile Alcoser Junior was stabilized in a serious condition. He was later transported to K.H.M.H for further medical treatment. Less than twenty-four hours later, on Wednesday night, another shooting happen around seven in the San Pablo Area. Thirty-one year old Jaime Manzano was shot to the right foot and both arms. Manzano and his wife had just arrived home when they encountered a man coming out of their bedroom. The man fired several shots in the couple’s direction hitting Manzano. The man made good his escape. Police investigations continue.
