2015 Preschool Festival of Arts Kicks Off at the Bliss
An anticipated item on the calendar of school activities is the Festival of Arts involving pre-scholars. This morning the festival opened at the Bliss; teachers and proud parents were on hand for the event. For the little ones there was excitement at the chance of being on stage and perhaps a little nervousness. News Five’s Isani Cayetano reports.

The annual Preschool Festival of Arts commenced today at the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts where kindergartners from across Belize City gathered to celebrate the opening. Taking the stage were students from various schools, singing, dancing and reciting poetry. The theme for this year is, ‘Display Our Talents and Brighten the World’.

“Your preschool experience is not just only about being in your preschool and doing schoolwork but it is also about learning to express yourselves. Just look around us today and I see happy, smiling faces that say so much about the talents bursting out, ready to shine and brighten our hearts. Our little ones, as you sit here today and you anxiously await your turn to come up on stage and showcase your talents that will not only brighten the Bliss and put endless smiles on our face but this will also transcend in our homes, in our schools and in our communities.”
The festival coincides with Child Stimulation Month and infants are being encouraged to express themselves through various mediums.
“We know that our little ones have been equipped with that very important foundation which will not only lead them to be more expressive and more vocal but they have that strong foundation and I, you and everyone in here feel very confident that the children are given a great start to display their talents and brighten the world they live in. So preschoolers, take on this challenge and don’t be afraid to express yourselves. Remember that it is in displaying your talents that you will brighten all of our world.”
The annual event is sponsored by the National Institute of Culture and History and organized by the Ministry of Education.
