Former Cayo North Standard Bearer Airs Out P.U.P.

The People’s United Party National Executive has been convened to independence hall this Wednesday, a week after it last met. All day today, there have purportedly been reports that the party will be making changes to the executive in the wake of the massive defeat at the polls in the March fourth Municipal Elections in which the P.U.P. managed to win only five seats, and that is for the Orange Walk Town Council.  Soon after, a recording was released in which John Briceño made allegations—though not new—that millions and millions of dollars had been stolen in the last P.U.P. Administration. Even as it reels from the recording, the party has been hit by yet another snag. It’s former Cayo North standard bearer, Richard Harrison, who was quickly replaced by attorney Michel Chebat, wrote a blazing article and posted it on Facebook on Monday. Harrison complains that he was made the sacrificial lamb and then dumped.   Harrison writes in the article titled, “A Post Election View From Under the Bus,” that he was effectively kicked under the bus after he had put his energy and resources for the party. According to Harrison, “This is how the current “endorsement champions” of the party can be expected to treat anyone that it considers not to be a blind loyal follower. This is the kind of rogue dictatorship that a party which voluntarily suspends its own constitution will provide for….taking away the right of its supporters (more like blind loyal followers?) to democratically choose their representatives in free, open and fair intra-party conventions.” Harrison threw another blow saying that, “The current P.U.P. leadership seems hell bent on creating the party without a party to go to anytime soon. Treating party supporters like disposable diapers only chases them and their families and loyalists away…..it does not inspire unity….and divided, we fall.”

Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dumb parties leading Belize backward.

Corruption and stupidity, the black magic of politics.

What are the odds Belize won’t be a country in ten years?
North goes to Mexico, and the south to Guatemala, if the treaties hold up.
Or maybe a narco state, THE vacation play ground for cartels, gangs and terrorists.

Unfortunately, very sadly so, here is another bitter fruit from the tree of Zaaqum. The truth will make us free according to what we sow. We reap what we sow. The truth according Richard Harrison.

How credible is Richards assessment? If he is so against endorsement why did he NOT walk away when he was endorsed? It would have been the honorable thing to do if he is so principled! It doesn’t matter that the by-election was an emergency, the fact is he was endorsed and people did not have a say in choosing their representative then. If the people of Cayo North really believed in him NO VOTE BUYING would have prevented them from voting for him. Does he really believe that after such a recent massive loss people would have elected him at a convention to take a second beating from Figueroa???I had great respect for you Richard..not sure I do anymore

i feel for him…i think that running with the PUP was a huge mistake. i know that perhaps he has the people at heart and really wanted change….but he made a mistake. he should know that politics is dirty business no matter where in the world.

To Ali. You forgot to mention our playground is also for retired KKK clansmen. But its the same for both parties. If you are not a blind follower, you will not belong. Simple as that.
