Police Constable Keith Cruz, attached to the Raccoon Street Station, shares what he has learned during the session with us. He believes that calm and restraint should prevail in dealing with residents.
PC Keith Cruz, Eastern Division
“Based on this training I learned more how to interact with the community, proper PR because what I noticed in this training is that they are teaching us how to be more professional as police officers.”
Isani Cayetano
“Now in terms of the way you go about doing your job, based on the information that you have learned today, what would be the difference in terms of how you plan to approach civilians and dealing with issues concerning public people?”
Keith Cruz
“Well, I will just approach them more calmly, to be more calm on certain approach because there are certain situations that you really need to be professional whenever you deal with people outside because more or less people on the street they are so much in a rush to be… so we just need to be more professional as police officers in executing our duties.”
Over the next three weeks the training room at the Eastern Division Headquarters will be the venue for the ongoing session which should see a cohort of almost four hundred officers completing the exercise.
